I’m constantly amazed of the low quality of language at the major Swedish newspapers, and in particular their respective online versions.

But today was the worst of them all. Instead of writing the Swedish word for “ship”, fartyget, they had made a very interesting typo. The word fartpylypeyget decorated the article.

For a second, compare the two words:

Were the editors asleep? Sure, it’s a Friday evening, but let’s not hope that Svenska Dagbladet (one of the most respected papers in the country) are having drunken parties in the office while editing articles. It’s not the first time they’ve had obvious spelling errors, either.
