Ryttargårdskyrkan

The whole weekend was spent at Ryttargårdskyrkan or with friends from the same place. Friday evening service, a sports theme party on Saturday, then Sunday service, lunch and an evening concert with Bengt Johansson. With this being a new semester, there are quite a few new people around church.

The theme party was arranged by the four guys from church living together at Fanjunkaregatan, and the little apartment was crowded with people masquerading as different sportsmen. I had grabbed a compass and a map from a phone directory and together with a head lamp I was an orienteer. There were several softball and soccer players as well, but the most exquisite outfit was definitely the parachuter, complete with an autentic skydiving suit and parachute.

One of the main attractions of the evening was the arm wrestling table, and many people tested their strengths against their others. When I woke up the next morning, I was going to have serious muscle soreness because of this sport, but that was nothing compared to the guy whose arm snapped and acquired a spiral fracture…

The sunday service was particularily long because the congregation said farewell to their pastor Daniel Röjås who is leaving the city for Stockholm after six years as the local pastor.

Bengt Johansson’s concert in the evening was really good. Though I was really tired after two long days the music was very uplifting and gave me and many others a great evening. Probably the best way to end a weekend.

There will be another Friday service this week, and then Erik Tilling will be playing. Looking forward to a great evening of worship!
