Finals

Kärin nagged me for not blogging in a long time, and therefore I would like to give a “small” update.

Being a M.Sc. student at one of the top national universities, there are certain periods of time when one only has time to do the most essential things such as studying, eating, sleeping, studying and …studying. The last weeks has most certainly been one of these periods, with course finals in Linear Algebra and Calculus I. Naturally, blogging has not been on the priority list. Add to the fact that English only is my second language, and there is another, yet small, obstacle.

Just before Christmas, on the 20th of December, I made my first large math examination. The examination went quite well, I was well-prepared and had done my homework. Awkwardly, I failed miserably with the first, most trivial, task even though I perfectly finished the final and most challenging one. After all, I was quite sure that I would get at least grade four (maximum is five). Today I got the results reported to me via an automatic e-mail sent by the university server. I only got a three, which is the lowest and still pass the course. A little disappointing, but I have still not seen the test and hope to be able to find some error in the correction.

Moving on. Christmas with my family in Västerås. I got a very handy hair/beard trimmer from my sister that I promptly used to trim both my beard and haircut to a more good-looking length.

Now I am sitting in Västerås the last evening before I leave for Linköping again. On Tuesday I have the examination in Calculus. My head is spinning, full of (anti)derivates, limits, integrals and integer sums. Now is the last push, then I will relax for some time. Till’ then!
