Now I have begun the long road of university education! On the 14th of August I gathered with my to-be class for the start of the orientation week (the (in)famous “nollning”). I now study to be come a master of science in engineering physics at Linköping Institute of Technology (LiTH).
The introductory mathematic analysis course started on Wednesday, and I am already working hard to learn the new concepts and to finish the homework. For the day I am ahead of the schedule, having finished quadratic factorization and algebra.
I don’t do much else than eating, sleeping and studying math these days, and that will be the reality for me the next weeks. Orientation also takes a lot of time, we get to do all kinds of activities to get to know the school and ourselves better. Today, for instance, we had the famous packling, which is a knockout tournament between the sections of the school to see which one can pack most of their freshmen into one Nissan Micra.
Of course (?) the Y-section (engineering physics, my section) won this year and now holds the Golden Steering Wheel until next year. The highest number of people we crammed into the car were nineteen, in under thirty seconds!
I am now going to bed in my new apartment to face another day at the school. I start at 0800 in the morning with “Ymping”, or morning gymnastics led by our “godfathers” in the higher grades. Studying is fun!
