Photo gallery

I am working hard to get the photo gallery work really well. Right now I am populating it with  various photos I’ve taken, to make it a quite complete photo gallery. One thing I notice is that it requires quite a lot of disk space to have all images like this, but it is worth it.

So I present to you, the photo gallery. Enjoy!

Driving practice

In Sweden, you are allowed to take driving lessons from age 16, and you have to wait for your driving license until you are 18 years old. I am seventeen, and I have driven for soon two years. The last months my driving practice has become more and more serious and I have also taken one driving lesson at a driving school.

The final exams are quite tough, and you need to pay a lot of attention to the details in your driving, or else you will fail to obtain a driving license, and getting another examination is quite costly. Alas, there is a lot of money to save if you do a lot of driving pracice.

Today I mostly practiced parking, reverse parking, and a lot of quirky turns in small spaces. Of course, this was done on an empty parking lot, and there was no risks such as damaging other cars.

All and all, I have two months until my exam, and I am practicing a lot now so that I can become good enough to pass the test.

Graduation coming up

So three years at the ABB Upper Secondary Highschool are finally coming to an end. I started first class there in the fall of 2003, and my graduation day will be at the 9th of June this year, so it’s only 15 days left.

In Sweden, the Highschool graduation is a big event. All graduated students drive around the city in waggons clad with birch leaves, and they all wear their “Studentmössor” (a white cap with a black stripe and a yellow ring in the front).

Me and my class got our caps today, and we wer eager to try them on. Since I have quite a big head (must be because I’m so smart), I had ordered the largest size which was 62 cm, and the cap fits me perfectly.

I really look forward to Graduation Day. 9th of June, here I come!

Blog 2.0b1

As you regular readers already might have noticed, this site has undergone major work the last week. The old design has been removed, and finally I have created a theme I like myself. It is based on the fluidity theme, but the colors have changed to blue and I have tweaked the theme to fit my needs.

I also proudly present a very new function to this blog; the photo album. It features seamless integration with the Gallery2 webapp which is a great piece of software for creating image galleries.

The new version is still in beta, so all functions are not complete. Comments, for example, are on their way to become active, but I need to take som spam countermeasures first. Also, there are som css quirks still left to solve on the gallery integration, but those errors only affect me as an administrator.

I chose a flexible-width layout for accessibility and for the fact that I detest fixed-width themes. The purpose of this blog is to present what I want to write in a clear and intiutive way.

I need to change my writing as well. I have not performed enough updates on the textual information, and I have lost almost all of my readers. Hopefully, they will find their way back soon.

So in summary, this is my new homepage. Hopefully this will bring an end to all major visual overhauls and instead focus on the content. I hope you will enjoy reading!

IE trouble

I am having problems with my blog being rendered incorrectly in Internet Explorer. I’m working on the issues. But as for now, I highly recommend you to switch to the Mozilla Firefox browser.

Project Voxel – Report v2

After many hours of writing, editing and layouting, we (the Voxel group) have sent in the second version of our final report on Project Voxel. This is the penultimate version, and after the teachers have corrected any mistakes, we will hand in version 3, the final version, next week.

The 4x4x4 Rubik Cube

Recently I recieved a 4x4x4 Rubik’s cube. Now I have sucessfully solved it by the aid of a few homepages. It was pretty trivial since I am quite good at solving the 3x3x3.

The 4x4x4 is tricky because you don’t have any center pieces to go after, so you need to remember the individual positions of the colors before you will be able to solve it. What’s nice, though, is that the 4x4x4 cube is a superset of both the 3x3x3 and 2x2x2 cubes, and can be used to practice solving those.

I need to become faster on the Cube, but I think that the learning curve for the Friedrich methods are too difficult to learn, it seems like you need to learn every case by heart before you can use the method.

Project Voxel – Presentation

Today we had our project presentation. We had a working prototype, although it didn’t use the microprocessor. The presentation was 30 minutes long and seemed to be well-recieved by the audience.

George was also there, and he spoke a lot about how good we’ve been, so after all it feels quite good to have done this tricky display.

Project Voxel – The final push

So tomorrow is the presentation. We have been busy working all day, and are finally finished to the point where we have something to display for the audience. The presentation is redy to be presented!

Project Voxel – Prototype coming closer

We have assembled the spinning disc and attached the LED matrix to it. We then fired up the first test run, with the middle LED:s turned on. Performance is less than expected, but we are closer than ever to a working prototype.
